As dramatic as it sounds, this infograph might actually save your life
One of the absolute worst habits an overwhelming majority of us are guilty of is playing around on our phones before we go to bed.
Smartphone screens give off a blue light which actually confuses our brains into thinking it is day time. This causes the brain to stop producing melatonin, which is a hormone that tells our bodies and brains when it is time to go to sleep.
In other words, "smart" phones can disrupt the inborn sleep cycle, thereby making it harder to get a good nights rest and lack of sleep leads to a wealth of different, potentially life threatening issues, in the future.
