In honor of the victims of the Orlando shooting, Anonymous activists hacked hundreds of ISIS twitter accounts and gave them "fabulous" makeovers.
When the group known as ISIS learned about the Orlando, Florida, shooting which took place on Sunday, they celebrated. This is because the shooter, identified as Omar Mateen, allegedly pledged allegiance to the organization just moments before going on a massacre killing 49 innocent people and injuring at least 50 more.
Of course it is relatively well known that this group despise gay people, so they were all too happy. That was at least before the hacktivist group Anonymous gave them a "fabulous" makeover;
While the world mourns the loss of innocent life, these hacktivists although marginally effective have at least helped remind the world how pathetic the organization ISIS and their followers really are.For you #Orlando. #Daesh in Iraq @gi_h_a_d35 #OpDaesh #Anonymous #GhostOfNoNation pic.twitter.com/LGI9fRVpA4— WauchulaGhost (@WauchulaGhost) June 14, 2016
CBS reports that a hacker by the name of WauchulaGhost is responsible for most of the attacks. He hacked into ISIS account @gi_h_a_d35, and then changed the profile picture to a gay flag, and tweeted the following:
“Hello World. It’s time I share with you a little secret…I’m Gay and I’m Proud!! #GayPride #OrlandoWillNotBeForgotten !!! #GhostOfNoNation”IP Addresses, phone numbers, contact information, etc. were also Tweeted out by the activist for other hackers to use.
This obviously isn't gonna bring these criminals down, but it does serve to humiliate them.Another #DaeshBag in #Jordan. @hddgfgds1. Remembering the Innocent lives lost. #Orlando #Anonymous #GhostOfNoNation pic.twitter.com/bgBEVy5yBC— WauchulaGhost (@WauchulaGhost) June 14, 2016

WauchulaGhost explained his reasoning for attacking the intolerant extremists as follows;
“I did it for the lives lost in Orlando.Sources;
Daesh [ISIS] have been spreading and praising the attack, so I thought I would defend those that were lost. The taking of innocent lives will not be tolerated.
Our actions redirected at Jihadist extremists. Many of our own group [group of hackers] are Muslim and we respect all religions that do not take innocent lives.”
